This tool formats, minifies, and validates JSON data. All processing happens in your browser - no data is sent to any server.
Format mode: Pretty-prints JSON with configurable indentation (2 spaces, 4 spaces, or Tab). Displays type, key count, and character count.
Minify mode: Removes all whitespace to produce compact JSON. Shows compression statistics including percentage saved.
Validate mode: Checks JSON validity and displays a structural analysis up to 2 levels deep, showing each field's type and nested key counts.
Error handling: Invalid JSON produces a clear error message with line and column position, plus common issues that cause JSON parse errors.
Common JSON errors: Missing quotes around keys, trailing commas, single quotes instead of double quotes, unescaped special characters.
